ProSmart Solutions Inc. in consultation with several technical officers and experts has developed the National Agro Ecological Zoning Platform. It builds upon a number of core datasets provided by Global Agro Ecological Zoning database developed by IIASA and FAO. The toolbox provides insights on crop suitability, crop yield, productivity, harvested area under rain-fed or irrigated water supply, high, medium or low inputs and climate change scenarios and pathways at sub-national level. It is designed as an easy to use application supporting several food security and early warning activities. The data and reports generated from the dashboard provide useful information on the overall conditions and potential of crop growth during the various management options to support food security requirements over the ongoing threats, risks and pressures at sub-national level. It uses several available datasets provided by FAO, Global Agro Ecological Zones portal, country indicators, combined with selected datasets prepared by ProSmart Solutions Inc.
The toolbox provides dashboards on:
National Agro-Ecological Zones
Climate Change Impacts and Risks
Crop yield changes
Adaptation and Mitigation Options
Crop Suitability
Crop Yield
Yield and Production Gaps
at the lowest available administrative level (sub-national level)
The database is updated every regularly and it includes a multitude of customized indicators developed by ProSmart Solutions Inc.
